Firefighters extinguish fire on ‘MOL Prosperity’

Hong Kong: Firefighters have finally put out a fire which had been blazing on the 'MOL Prosperity' for more than a week.

Stevedores were working in the Number 7 hold when the 6,350TEU containership caught fire on July 1.

Patrick Wong, spokesman for the Hong Kong Marine Department said that that the ship owners, Shoei Kisen Kisha, would select a surveyor to appraise the damage on the MOL-operated vessel.

MOL said that a full investigation would be launch to assess the damage to the cargo.
