Explosion on board LNG Tanker in Thailand

An explosion on board a liquid natural gas tanker has injured at least four people in Thailand.

The 1,000-tonne ‘Pattarawadee 12’ had returned to sea after unloading its cargo in Bangpakong, Thailand before the explosion occured, local news outlet Khaosod said.

The ship had been emptying remaining gas vapour from its tanks but local police told Khaosod that it was too early to determine the cause for sure.

Four of the tanker’s crew of ten were injured in the incident and transferred to Bangpakong Hospital to receive treatment for severe burns.
