

Shipyards around the world will deliver 278 containerships totalling 1.42 million TEU capacity in 2010 following record deliveries in the third quarter, according to Paris-based Alphaliner.
Deliveries this year have already reached 1.29 million TEU, including 468,000 TEU in the third quarter, an increase on the 1.07 million TEU in 2009,
While the number of ships due for delivery this year is close to the 268 vessels, the average size of this year's ships has increased to 5,150 TEU from 3,990 TEU.
