

A new feeder service operated by the French shipping company CMA CGM has been operating between the Port of Hamburg, the Lithuanian port city of Klaipeda and the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad since the middle of November.
The feeder vessel 'Ice Bird' calls at the container terminals in the Port of Hamburg, Germany, on a weekly basis.
The first departure of the 'Ice Bird' from Hamburg was as early as November 18, 2009.
The ship, chartered by the Bockstiegel shipping company based in Emden, is 129.7 metres long and 20.6 metres wide, with a carrying capacity of 698TEU and 120 reefer connections. The ship has a deadweight tonnage of 8,210 tonnes, a draught of 7.4 metres and a service speed of 17 knots.
