Australia: Shell to redevelop King Bay fuel supply facilities

Published on

Shell Australia has reached a commercial agreement with Woodside for the redevelopment of the fuel supply facilities at King Bay Supply Base, near Dampier.

The redevelopment will enable Shell to continue to be Woodside's supplier of bulk fuels. Works commenced in early 2011 and include the reinstatement of the King Bay Supply Base import pipeline, a road gantry for truck loading and additional tankage.

Shell said the facility was important for the storage of diesel to support shipping and local export industries in the booming region.

Craig James, Shell's General Manager, Marketing, said Western Australia was a key growth market for Shell's Australian business and this enhanced facility would improve supply to customers in the Dampier area, especially a growing number of shipping customers.
