The Mid-River Terminal Company of Osceola in Arkansas, USA, has taken delivery of a 20- by nine-metre towboat, the 'Dianna Lynn', from Rodriguez Shipbuilders.

The new boat will be primarily involved in fleeting and harbour work.

The wheelhouse has a 360-degree view with large windows and is set on top of the two accommodation decks. Steering and flanking rudders are controlled by wheelhouse levers with mechanical shafts through the houses and connected to the hydraulic actuator valves in the upper engine room.

A set of push knees and deck winches with cheek blocks facilitates barge work. A pair of 55kW gensets meets the boat's electrical requirements.

With a conventional forward-house pusher configuration, the 'Dianna Lynn' uses three in-line six-cylinder Cummins QSK19 engines, each delivering 492kW. Each engine turns a 1.6-metre stainless steel propeller through ZF gears with six-to-one reduction. The combination gives the nearly 1,500kW-towboat a 2.5-metre operating draught.

The 'Dianna Lynn' is the fourth boat in the Mid-River Terminal fleet.
