Robert Uggla has been appointed new CEO of Svitzer with effect from May 1.
Uggla has until now held the position as managing director of Broström, which is part of Maersk Tankers. He replaces Jesper T Lok, who was recently appointed new CEO of DSB, the national Danish train operator.
Robert Uggla joined the AP Moller-Maersk Group, Svitzer's parent company, in 2004. In 2006, he was appointed Maersk Line country manager based in Dubai, and in 2009, he became managing director of Broström.
Svitzer has some 4,500 employees and operates a fleet of more than 500 vessels within harbour and terminal towage as well as salvage. Globally the company is represented in more than 100 ports. The company currently has a new building programme of 20 vessels.
