Britoil orders six AHTs plus two options at Jiangsu Zhenjiang Shipyard
Britoil Offshore Services has launched a newbuilding program for six anchor handling tugs (AHTs) to be built at Jiangsu Zhenjiang Shipyard in China.
These 45-metre LOA, 80-tonne-bollard-pull vessels were specifically designed to meet the demanding conditions of offshore work, Britoil said, and feature increased fuel-carrying capacity.
"This initiative is a strategic move to renew our fleet through a modern and enhanced evolution of the older Britoil AHTs," said the company.
"Reflecting a deliberate effort to ensure our assets are aligned with the current and future needs of the industry, this investment demonstrates Britoil’s commitment to continuously strengthening our capabilities to remain relevant as a leader in our core market segment, ensuring we are a trusted, future-ready partner in a rapidly changing landscape.
"As EPC-focused offshore workhorses, the AHT vessels feature enhanced propulsion systems, refined hull designs, and increased fuel-carrying capacities, delivering exceptional performance, reliability, and safety."
