Les Entreprises PEC orders new tug from Quebec builder

Published on

Forillon Shipyard has been awarded a new contract for the construction of a sub-15-tonne tug Les Entreprises PEC. The vessel, which will be named Frank C in honor of François Cayouette, former president of the company, will be built in Rivière-au-Renard, Quebec.

The project represents the first construction to be carried out since Chantier Naval Forillon acquired the Rivière-au-Renard site last year.

"The Frank C will stand out for its power and optimised hull," said Jean-David Samuel, President and CEO of Forillon Shipyard.

"Every element of its construction - from the choice of materials to the mechanical components - will be designed to maximise the vessel's overall performance. The goal: to provide Les Entreprises PEC with a reliable, innovative, agile tug perfectly suited to the company's new needs."

Construction began in April 2025, with delivery estimated by October 2025.
