Harbour tug delivered to Turkish operator

A new harbour was recently delivered to Turkish tug operator Marin Tug.

Inceburun was designed by Canadian naval architecture firm Robert Allan Ltd (RAL). The design enables optimal efficiency in ship-handling duties for seagoing ships and emphasises low-manning operation with advanced machinery automation.

A wider beam compared to similar-sized tugs enables greater performance and stability.

Inceburun has an LOA of 24.4 metres, a moulded beam of 12 metres, and Fifi1 equipment. The propulsion delivers a bollard pull of over 70 tonnes and a free running speed of 12.5 knots.

The hull features good dead rise for improved thruster performance, a modest side flare, a half-raised forecastle deck for good sea keeping, and a gently rounded deck line in plan to ensure that the tug can safely and easily come alongside and remove itself from an attended ship at speed.

A conically shaped, double-chined stern ensures that the tug can run astern at high speeds and maintain good control and directional stability.

Inceburun was designed and constructed to ABS class requirements.
