United Kingdom-based marine services provider Maritime Craft Services (MCS) recently took delivery of a new Damen Shoalbuster 2609-series work boat.

Named 'MCS Rosie', the 26-metre vessel was immediately dispatched to Abu Dhabi upon delivery, preparing for her first job in Qatar providing support services to the dredging industry.

Originally built-to-stock, the contract for the vessel was signed on March 12, with MCS taking delivery just eight days later from Damen's Hardinxveld shipyard following final classification.

According to Damen, a few customisations to the standard Shoalbuster 2609 design implemented for MCS, including a slightly more powerful bollard pull (32 tonnes), higher-capacity engines, and alterations made to the deck crane.
