VESSEL REVIEW | Kinda II – First of new 60m displacement yacht series

The steel-hulled newbuild boasts an owner's deck, a forward garage, a touch-and-go helicopter platform and fully opening full-height glazing.

Kinda II, the first in a series of three motor yachts sold by Italian shipbuilder Baglietto, is the largest vessel the La Spezia yard has completed since its establishment in 1854.

The 60.6-metre (199-foot) displacement yacht was launched at La Spezia on March 20, 2026, and was delivered in August registered to Saint Kitts and Nevis. She became the yard's flagship, succeeding the 59.4-metre Vicky delivered in 2008.

The yacht is built with a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure. Francesco Paszkowski Design was responsible for both the exterior and interior design, with Margherita Casprini collaborating on the interiors.

Naval architecture was developed by Pierluigi Ausonio.

Baglietto had earlier presented the yacht as a development of a smaller vessel. The concept offered either a main deck owner's suite or an arrangement dedicating the entire upper deck to the owner, and the vessel ultimately adopted the latter.

The yard announced the sale of the first unit on December 22, 2022, and construction began in early 2023.

The concept had placed the wheelhouse on the upper deck. On Kinda II, the sun deck features the wheelhouse together with the captain's cabin, a dining area, and sunbathing areas at its forward and aft ends.

Baglietto listed the yacht's gross tonnage as approximately 1,100. The vessel also has a beam of 11 metres (36 feet) and a draught of only three metres (9.8 feet).

Can accommodate either conventional or hybrid propulsion

Propulsion is provided by two Caterpillar 3512E IMO Tier III diesel engines that each produce 1,350 kW (1,810 hp) (though the design was developed from the outset to be able to accommodate a hybrid setup if the owner so chooses).

The yard listed the yacht's top speed as 16 knots and its cruising speed as 12 knots. Her range is approximately 5,500 nautical miles.

Technical and service functions occupy the under-lower deck, with storage rooms, cold rooms, luggage storage and a wine cellar. Seven cabins on the lower deck can accommodate up to 13 crewmembers; this deck also contains the crew mess and dinette, as well as a fifth guest cabin.

The other four guest cabins are situated on the main deck while the professional galley is on the lower deck.

Full selection of indoor and outdoor amenities

The tender garage sits at the bow of the main deck, with room for a tender measuring seven metres (23 feet), along with two personal watercraft and a rescue tender. The foredeck also carries a touch-and-go helicopter platform.

At the stern, the beach area, the main saloon and the dining room are arranged across two levels connected by an open staircase. Together, they form a living space of nearly 100 square metres (1,000 square feet). At its lower level is a beach lounge of approximately 60 square metres (650 square feet) with a swimming pool, gym and bar.

Two fold-down platforms open the spa to the sea. The spa contains a massage room, a sauna, and a steam bath.

The full-height glass on the main saloon and upper deck can be retracted, while the dining room's glass wall opens completely. Baglietto said this will allow the informal areas to be, "open to the sea during the day," and closed for evening entertaining.

The owner's deck is accessed through a glass lift situated in the central lobby.

The suite has a private office, a walk-in wardrobe and two bathrooms, with windows that open on three sides.

Forward is a private pool equipped with a system that creates a counter-current for swimming, while located aft are retractable glass panels that provide access between the lounge and an outdoor dining area.

The second and third yachts in the series are under construction at La Spezia, with the third scheduled for delivery in 2029.
