
Vietnam: Ha Long Shipbuilding Industry Company has launched a 4,900-unit car carrier named 'Violet Ace'.
This PCTC is designed by Naval Progetti Design Institute, in Italy. Classification Society DNV (Norway) approved its design, supervised the construction, and classified the vessel as 1A1 – the highest level for car carriers.
'Violet Ace' is 185.6 metres long, 32.26 metres wide and has a depth of 36.10 metres. The vessel runs runs at s speed of 19.8 knots.
The ship has 13 decks, including 11 garage decks which can accommodate 4,900 cars of different types, one crew deck and one cabin deck.
In addition, there is also a volleyball yard, a sports house, a mini swimming pool, and a heliport on the ship.
'Violet Ace' is the second ship built by Ha Long Shipping Company under the contract between the company and an Israel-based group named Ray Shipping.
