The North American Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA) has announced that TITAN Salvage, a subsidiary of Crowley Maritime, is the recipient of its 2014 Corporate Marine Environment Protection Award.

The prestigious award recognises TITAN's proactive approach towards protecting and preserving the oceans.

TITAN Vice President, Chris Peterson, said the company was humbled and honoured to receive the award, and would accept the award on behalf of the company at the NAMEPA's conference in New York City in October.

Earlier this year, TITAN marked the completion of the largest maritime salvage job in history when the cruise ship 'Costa Concordia' was safely moored at the Port of Genoa in Voltri, Italy.

The project required 48,000 engineering man-hours, 1,200 workers, and more than 22,000 dives totalling 30,000 hours.
