Astilleros Zamakona has launched a new fuel supply ship Bunker Breeze for the company Suardiaz Energy Shipping, the third vessel for the same ship owner.

The supply vessel can carry all common marine fuels from fuel oil and gas oil to LNG.

The project is part of a European Commission initiative in the field of environmental protection, where the main objective is to develop an LNG logistics chain that will allow for the use of gas as a fuel for transport, especially shipping.

It is led by Puertos del Estado (the Spanish port authority) and coordinated by Enagás. The project has 42 partners from Spain and Portugal, including Suardiaz and Cepsa.

This vessel will begin operations in the port of Barcelona as of Q4 2018.

Bunker Breeze is 86 metres long by 17 metres in beam and weighs 5,250 tonnes. The vessel has the capacity to house 10 HFO and MDO cargo tanks and four LNG tanks.
