Canadian shipping company Algoma Central Corporation has taken delivery of the first vessel in a new series of two product tankers.

Algoma East Coast will service Canada’s largest refinery with deliveries to ports in Atlantic Canada and the US East Coast on behalf of Algoma and Irving Oil. Sister ship Algoma Acadian will meanwhile be delivered this spring.

The Southern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Centre of Russia's state-owned United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) has handed over a new chemical tanker to Eurasia-Shipping Caspian.

Designed by USC's Nevsky Design Bureau, Azimut-1 belongs to the Project 00216M series of tankers that capable of river-sea navigation.

Belgian shipping company Victrol has expanded its fleet with the recent acquisition of a new bunkering barge.

Havana will be operated by Victrol while ownership will remain with Petro Shipping. The barge will serve customers primarily within the Rhine River and the Antwerp, Rotterdam, and Amsterdam region.

China's Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard launched a new oil/product tanker on Saturday, April 19.

Atlantic Majesty is the second in a new series of oil/product tankers built by Changhong International for Singapore-based Eastern Pacific Shipping. Design work on the series was provided by CIMC Ocean Engineering Design and Research Institute.

China's Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding has completed conducting sea trials of a new LNG carrier slated for COSCO Shipping subsidiary COSCO Shipping Energy Transportation.

The vessel has an LOA of 299 metres, a beam of 46.4 metres, a depth of 26.25 metres, and a total cargo capacity of 174,000 cubic metres. The ship also boasts a twin-skeg design as well as and other systems for improving hydrodynamics and reducing carbon emissions.
