QatarEnergy has issued a spot tender offering light and full range naphtha cargoes on a free-on-board basis from Ras Laffan port inside the Strait of Hormuz, traders said and a document reviewed by Reuters showed on Wednesday.
QatarEnergy offered 25,000 tons of light naphtha for loading during September 2 to 3, and 50,000 tons of full-range naphtha for loading during September 3 to 4, the company said in the tender.
Bids were due by noon Doha time (09:00 GMT) on Thursday.
The company's previous tender was awarded at discounts, reflecting the risks of lifting cargoes inside the Strait of Hormuz. Two naphtha traders said buyers would need a high tolerance for risk to enter the waterway and load the cargoes.
QatarEnergy also issued its first tender offering crude via ship-to-ship transfers outside the Strait of Hormuz, joining other Persian Gulf producers that have moved loading operations beyond the waterway.
