Prima Marine finalises six-tanker order at Chinese yards

Published on

Thailand's Prima Marine has ordered six tanker newbuildings at Ningbo Zhenhe Shipyard and CSTC Shanghai, based on an FKAB design

The 73-metre product tanker design was tailored for easy and efficient operation in Thailand's coast and river areas.

Each tanker features five pairs of epoxy-coated cargo tanks and one pair of slop tanks.

Main propulsion comprises a high efficiency fixed pitch propeller driven by a bio-diesel-prepared four-stroke engine. A bow thruster and flap rudder ensure effective manoeuvrability.

A number of energy saving and environmental solutions were implemented into the design, including a low-resistance "f-bow" hull form, a shaft generator and LED lighting.

Prima Marine specialises in the storage of crude oil, petroleum products, semi-petroleum products and liquefied petroleum gas, and it also provides floating storage and offshore support, other offshore vessel support, and ship management.
