Danish naval architecture firm Knud E. Hansen has moved into the reefer market, following two successful Ro-Ro and Ro-Con designs for CMN and Bahri.

Named the 'Reefer RoRo', the design was developed in close co-operation with Reefer Intel and Stena RoRo. The vessel is intended for global deployment as a reefer vessel in the banana trade, with special emphasis on fast and efficient cargo handling whilst in port.

Sporting "green" technology for its machinery plant systems, the 199-metre x 29-metre x 10.2-metre vessel boasts a 40 per cent lower unit cost, 45 per cent more capacity "than traditional reefers", slow steaming/fuel saving capabilities and a twelve-hour turnaround time.
