Guangdong, China: The Port of Shenzhen has announced incentives worth some US$45 million to attract shipping lines to call at the port, located in the southern region of the Pearl River Delta.

This package is one of the largest to be offered by any Chinese port this year and was launched due to the port's poor performance due to declining demand for Chinese-made products in the US and Europe.

At its peak, Shenzhen is home to 39 shipping companies branching out to over 130 international container routes. However, it is likely that this year, the Port of Shenzhen may post a double digit percentage decline.
