Da Chan Bay Terminal One in Shenzhen, China, has received Maersk Line's 'Nedlloyd Oceania' on her maiden voyage while being deployed on the carrier's Far East-Middle East (FM3) service, marking the second Maersk service to call at Da Chan Bay Terminal One since February.
Da Chan Bay Terminal One is expected to help shipping lines acquire new cargo catchment areas as factories migrate inland and to the west of the Pearl River Delta.
Da Chan Bay Terminal One CEO Andrew Milliken said that the terminal was the newest one in Shenzhen and that it was located to provide connectivity to cargo catchment areas in both the western and eastern Pearl River Delta.
The FM3 service calls weekly at the terminal each Wednesday and deploys container vessels with an average capacity of 3,600TEU. The port rotation for the FM3 is: Kwangyang – Busan – Hakata – Hong Kong – Da Chan Bay Terminal One – Tanjung Pelepas – Jawaharlal Nehru – Port Qasim.
