Australia: Port of Melbourne Corporation (PoMC) has appointed Captain Gary Wilson to the role of general manager, marine and navigational services, thereby assuming the statutory role of harbour master for the Port of Melbourne.
Captain Wilson takes over the role from Captain David Shennan, who served PoMC for the last four years. A qualified Master Mariner, Captain Wilson was lured to Melbourne from his previous role as head of marine and port services with Hutchison Port Holdings in the UK, including responsibility as harbour master for the Port of Felixstowe and Harwich International Port on the English east coast.
