Spain: Global marine terminal operator DP World has announced the completion and official opening of Phase 1 of the expansion of its Spanish terminal, DP World Tarragona.
Three Super Post-Panamax cranes capable of handling vessels with a nominal capacity of over 13,800TEU were also commissioned, adding to the two Panamax cranes and harbour crane already in use and boosting the terminal's overall efficiency. The facility has a mooring line of over 800 metres and a rail terminal.
"The new yard and cranes have transformed Tarragona from a small terminal in development to a modern, efficient facility capable of handling the world's largest ships," said Mohammed Sharaf, Chief Executive Officer of DP World.
