COSCO Shipping Singapore secures final construction approval for phase two of Jurong Island Logistics Hub

The board of directors of COSCO Shipping International (Singapore) has confirmed that the final permit approval for the construction work at the Jurong Island Logistics Hub (JILH) phase two has been obtained, allowing construction work to commence on Tuesday, June 24.

COSCO Shipping said that JILH phase two is an initiative to address the growing demand for specialised logistics services for the petrochemical and chemical sectors at Singapore's petrochemical hub of Jurong Island.

JILH phase two will comprise an additional 2.5 hectares of land with approximately 62,500 square metres of built-up area to nearly double the hub’s capacity.

JILH phase two will be integrated with JILH phase one's warehouse facilities through shared infrastructure, including a ground-to-roof ramp.

The combined expanded facility will offer logistic services such as handling of dangerous goods (DG) and general cargo services; drumming services (allowing repackaging of materials from ISO tanks into drums or IBCs); storage of laden containers; 24 hours transportation services catering for both DG and non-DG cargo, and empty container depot services.
