

Container terminal operator COSCO Pacific has revealed that throughput at its terminals fell 6.7 percent year-on-year in July to 3.78 million TEU, but the year-on-year loss narrowed from the 8.2 percent to 23.9 million TEU suffered from January to August.
Meanwhile, throughput at COSCO's Shanghai terminal volume fell 13.4 percent to 441,00TEU in July. Throughput also dropped 19.5 percent at its Hong Kong terminal to 130,000TEU while the throughput of the Yantian terminal on the Pearl River fell 16.7 percent to 710,000TEU.
Terminals on the Bohai Sea performed comparatively well, said the company. Qingdao throughput rose 2.8 percent to 848,600TEU, Tianjin was up eleven percent to 183,700TEU, but Dalian remained constant with a year-on-year handling of 394,400TEU.
