Cargo volume up 12 percent at Vostochny Port

Russia's Vostochny Port handled 6.7 million tonnes of cargo during the first five months of 2011, up 12 percent compared to the equivalent period in 2010. In May, the port handled 1.4 million tonnes, up one percent compared to May 2010.

The Specialised Coal Handling Terminal shipped 5.6 million tonnes for January to May 2011, up 11 percent from 2010, while the May figures were down one percent.

The Universal Handling Terminal shipped 1.1 million tonnes for January to May 2011, up 14 percent, the May figure up 13 percent from 2010.
