The Polish Industrial Development Agency has announced that it will open tenders to sell state-owned shipyards this month.
As part of the EU competition requirements, Poland must sell its shipyards' assets to private investors, or the yards would have to pay off public subsidies received since entering the EU in 2004.
Tenders for the Szczecin yard open on March 9 while tenders for the Gdynia yard open on March 16.
