

China: Nantong Cosco KHI Ship Engineering (Nacks) is said to be planning to build twelve vessels this year, Asiasis reported on September 16.
According to local statistics gathered by the publication, as at September 6, a total number of 84 newbuild vessels had been launched in Nantong city, where the Nacks shipyard is located. Nacks delivered seven of these vessels, including two 300,000DWT ore carriers, one 10,000TEU boxship, two 55,000DWT bulkers and two 5,000-unit PCTCs.
Nacks Vice Chairman Yang Yichuan said the global financial crisis had had little impact on the activities of the shipyard. None of their orders has been cancelled, and Nacks will proceed will building twelve vessels this year as scheduled.
