The author of this very well balanced analysis of security problems and their solutions, for example, has had the unpleasant personal experience of being attacked by pirates. There is obviously nothing like such an experience to heighten one's awareness of ship security.
His subsequent professional experience as a fraud investigator and security specialist has certainly refined his knowledge of the subject. This wide ranging book reflects and, usefully, reproduces that knowledge in a very easily read and digested form.
