The Denmark-based AP Moller-Maersk Group has decided to establish a global service centre in the Tianfu Software Park in Chengdu, the capital of southwestern China's Sichuan province.
The company will also set up a logistics processing branch as well as a documents processing centre in the software park, where the company's new facility will cover 15,000 square metres and integrate operations from Maersk's other branches, covering orders and documents processing as well as training.
Maersk said it decided to locate its logistics offices in Chengdu because it had become the economic and financial hub of south-western China and had gradually formed a cluster of shared service centres.
