One hundred jobs will be made redundant when China Navigation and its subsidiary, Swire Shipping, relocate to Singapore.
The two companies are currently based in Hong Kong and Sydney, Australia.
Only 20 new staff will be added to the offices in Singapore.
Swire Shipping said that while it regretted cutting staff, the move was essential to ensure the continuation of the company's viability.
