Japan's Tsuneishi Shipbuilding to merge two of its subsidiaries
Japan's Tsuneishi Shipbuilding will merge two of its wholly owned subsidiaries into a single company.
The newly integrated entity formed from the merger of subsidiaries Tsuneishi Miho Shipyard and Niigata Shipbuilding and Repair will continue to operate under the name of Tsuneishi Miho Shipyard effective September 1, 2025, as part of Tsuneishi's group reorganisation.
Tsuneishi said the reorganisation is designed to strengthen collaboration in the small- and medium-sized shipbuilding operations of the two companies, thereby enhancing the overall competitiveness of the Tsuneishi Group.
"By optimising the allocation of management resources and expediting decision-making, the group aims to achieve more efficient and agile business operations," Tsuneishi said in a press release.
Tsuneishi said that, in the future, it will continue to utilise the, "specialised technologies, accumulated expertise, and human resources developed by both companies to further enhance its corporate value."
Tsuneishi Miho Shipbuilding will continue to be based in Shizuoka, while the existing facilities of Niigata Shipbuilding and Repair in Niigata City will be retained.
