VanEnkevort orders self-unloading barge from Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding


Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding has signed an agreement with VanEnkevort Tug and Barge to construct a new self-unloading barge for transportation of bulk products throughout the Great Lakes region.

The vessel will be 225 metres long and weigh 37,512 deadweight tonnes. It will be constructed in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.

The self-unloading barge will be delivered with the first Great Lakes ballast water treatment system meeting EPA standards.

The vessel's construction is scheduled for completion in mid-2020.
