Cebu-based shipyard Tsuneishi Heavy Industries (THICI) has recently launched the 82,000DWT bulk carrier 'Emerald Star', reports Sun.Star Cebu.

Launched in late-April, the vessel, based on the company's SC-209-series of bulker, comes hot on the heels of a smaller 58,000DWT vessel also launched by the company.

The 82,000DWT bulker, named 'Emerald Star', will carry coal, nickel and other dry cargo for a Japanese shipowner. Between 2014 and 2016, THICI will build a total of eleven vessels for the client.

The vessel measures 229 metres in length overall, with a breadth of 32.6 metres and a depth of 20 metres.
