DNV has awarded approval in principle (AIP) to a new design of pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) being developed by Finnish naval architects Deltamarin.

The vessel will be powered by dual-fuel engines that will utilise LNG as their primary fuel. The LNG fuel tanks will be supplied by containment specialist GTT, which also participated in the PCTC design project in collaboration with Deltamarin.

The PCTC will be capable of carrying 8,000 CEUs.
