Somali pirates seized a North Korean-flagged general cargo ship on February 3.

The 4,800DWT 'RIM' was close to the coast of Yemen when it was hijacked, said EU NAVFOR.

The vessel is owned by White Sea Shipping of Libya and was not registered with the Maritime Security Corridor naval forces.

There are 17 Romanian and Libyan crew on board.

The vessel has now changed directions and is headed towards the Somali Basin.
