Dutch shipping company the Longship Group has taken delivery of a new shortsea dry cargo vessel built by local shipyards GS Projects and Ship and Steelbuilding (SAS).
Longpeace is the third in a series of vessels to be built by GS Projects and SAS for Longship. Sisters Longpearl and Longpride were handed over earlier this year.
The newbuild has an LOA of 103.08 metres, a beam of 16 metres, a draught of 6.2 metres, and a deadweight of 6,250.
Longpeace has already commenced operations with Longship, sailing on the company's routes in the Baltic Sea.
The original contract between Longship, GS Projects, and SAS covered the construction and delivery of four firm vessels with options for up to four additional vessels from the same series.
The options for all four additional ships have since been exercised.
Longship said the vessels are designed for highly efficient fuel consumption and advanced eco-friendly technologies.
All eight ships in the class were designed in compliance with Lloyd's Register class requirements and Finnish/Swedish ice class 1A specifications.
