Mitsui delivers 56,000DWT bulk carrier

Mitsui Engineering and Shipbuilding MES on August 4 completed and delivered a 56,000DWT bulk carrier 'Mykali' to Samos Steamship of Greece.

Built at MES's Tamano Works, 'Mykali' marks the 130th ship of its series, widely described as the Mitsui 56. About 170 units of this series have been ordered from MES.

The vessel is a Handymax-type bulk carrier with a cargo-hold capacity of more than over 70,000 cubic metres. The LR-classed vessel has an overall length of 189.99 metres, a moulded breadth of  182.00 metres, and a depth of 32.25 metres. The main engine is a Mitsui-MAN B&W 6S50MC-C diesel, which delivers a service speed of about 14.5 knots. The vessel has five cargo holds and four cranes for handling cargo.
