Mercantile Shipping Company, Sri Lanka, has recently taken delivery of a new multi-purpose cargo vessel.
Hull number 616 was christened 'Mercs Uva' and was delivered to Mercantile Emerald Shipping.
The vessel is the first of two being built by the Bodewes Shipyard in the Netherlands.
Mercantile reported a 71 percent fall in the group's net profit for the second quarter of 2009 to US$31,350.
