Freighter sinks following alleged collision with tanker in Singapore Straits

An Indonesian cargo vessel sank after it reportedly collided with a Kuwaiti Suezmax crude tanker in the Singapore Straits on Sunday, December 9.

The 277-metre Breeze (pictured) was sailing from South Korea to Sri Lanka while the 32-metre Makmur was en route from Singapore to Thailand when the collision allegedly took place.

All eleven of Makmur's crew were rescued. Four have suffered serious injuries.

The incident is still under investigation.
