Ship due at French port to load wheat bound for Egypt, port data shows

A ship is expected in the western French port of La Pallice on June 21 to load about 60,000 tonnes of wheat bound for Egypt, port data showed, confirming part of a sale reported by Reuters this month.

Mostakbal Misr confirmed to Reuters that one ship is already en route to France while two more are expected to make a similar journey "very soon".

Egypt's state grains buyer Mostakbal Misr agreed in April to buy about 180,000 tonnes of French wheat from two leading European traders, trading sources had said, though they said delivery of the cargoes faced delays.

Mostakbal Misr also told Reuters that it is pushing ahead with efforts to diversify wheat origins, including sourcing wheat from Australia.
