Japanese shipbuilder Imabari Shipbuilding Group has delivered a new 40,112-deadweight bulk carrier, Ocean Belinda. The vessel was completed at the group's I-S Shipyard and handed over on June 11.

The Panama-flagged ship has a length of 182.9 metres, a beam of 31 metres, and a draught of 15 metres. It is powered by a single MAN 6G45ME-C9.7 main engine, providing a service speed of approximately 14 knots. The vessel is classed by Nippon Kaiji Kyokai.

Ocean Belinda features a double-hull construction with box-shaped holds suitable for a wide variety of cargoes including grain, ore, cement, and steel products. For cargo handling, the vessel is equipped with four deck cranes and large, folding-type hatch covers for each hold.

According to the builder, the ship complies with environmental regulations including MARPOL and the ballast water management convention. It has also been built to meet the energy efficiency design Index (EEDI) Phase 3 requirements ahead of schedule and carries an inventory of hazardous materials in line with the Ship Recycling Convention.
