Greek dry bulk owner Diana Shipping has entered into a time charter contract with Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) for the Capesize bulk carrier Florida.
The charter is scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2027 and will run for between 32 and 35.5 months at a gross rate of $30,500 per day, less a five per cent commission payable to third parties.
The company expects the contract to generate approximately $29.28 million in gross revenue over the minimum charter period. The 182,063 DWT vessel, built in 2022, is currently employed by Bunge at a gross daily rate of $25,900, less a five per cent commission.
Diana Shipping operates a fleet of 36 dry bulk vessels comprising four Newcastlemax, eight Capesize, four Post-Panamax, six Kamsarmax, five Panamax, and nine Ultramax vessels.
Excluding two methanol dual-fuel Kamsarmax newbuildings scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2027 and the first half of 2028, the fleet has a combined carrying capacity of approximately 4.1 million DWT and a weighted average age of 12.7 years.
