Diana Shipping charters out post-Panamax bulker to Oldendorff
Dry bulk shipping company Diana Shipping announced on August 13 that it has entered into a time charter contract with Oldendorff Carriers for one of its post-Panamax vessels, the Polymnia. The charter is expected to commence on August 17, 2025.
The gross charter rate for the 2012-built vessel is $14,000 per day, minus a five per cent commission paid to third parties. The charter will run for a period until at least April 10, 2026, up to a maximum of June 10, 2026. Diana Shipping stated that the employment of the 98,704DWT Polymnia is anticipated to generate approximately $3.28 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.
According to information from Diana Shipping, its fleet currently consists of 36 dry bulk vessels. The fleet is comprised of four Newcastlemax, eight Capesize, four post-Panamax, six Kamsarmax, five Panamax, and nine Ultramax vessels.
The company also expects to take delivery of two new-build methanol dual-fuel Kamsarmax dry bulk vessels by the second half of 2027 and the first half of 2028, respectively. The combined carrying capacity of the company’s current fleet is approximately 4.1 million DWT.
