Diana Shipping announces new time charter contracts for two bulkers
Greek shipowner Diana Shipping has announced that it has entered into two new time charter contracts for its Ultramax bulk carrier DSI Phoenix and its Kamsarmax bulk carrier Astarte.
The 2017-built DSI Phoenix has been chartered to Cargill Ocean Transportation. The charter is expected to commence on August 3, 2025, and will run until at least October 1, 2026. The gross charter rate is $13,500 per day, minus a 4.75 per cent commission, and is anticipated to generate approximately $5.64 million of gross revenue for the minimum charter period.
The 2013-built Astarte has been chartered to Propel Shipping. This charter is expected to commence on August 2, 2025, for a period until at least August 16, 2026. The gross charter rate is $12,500 per day, minus a five per cent commission. This employment is anticipated to generate approximately $4.68 million of gross revenue for the minimum charter period.
Diana Shipping’s fleet currently consists of 36 dry bulk vessels, comprising four Newcastlemax, eight Capesize, four Post-Panamax, six Kamsarmax, five Panamax, and nine Ultramax bulkers. The company also expects to take delivery of two new-build methanol dual-fuel Kamsarmax vessels in 2027 and 2028.
