WEC Lines to launch new direct service between Ireland, France and Belgium
Netherlands-based logistics specialist WEC Lines will launch a new direct weekly container cargo service between Ireland, Belgium and France.
An 868TEU vessel owned by the company will be deployed on the new weekly service in a fixed seven-day rotation, departing Zeebrugge on Thursdays and arriving in Dublin on Sundays. WEC Lines said this will provide clients with a heightened level of flexibility and efficiency, such as rapid end-mile delivery.
Dublin will now be called three times a week, as it is also a port of call in the company's existing Spanish and Portuguese services.
Roger Megann, Managing Director WEC Lines UK, said the company will also extend its reach to the surrounding European hinterland, "further demonstrating WEC Lines’ commitment to Ireland as we grow the wider network that will see our range eventually extend to the Baltics and beyond whilst continuing to develop our markets of Portugal, Spain, Morocco and East Africa."
