The Evergreen Group of Taiwan has placed an order for 24 feeder containerships to be built by China's Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding.
The newbuilding contract covers the construction of two 1,800TEU ships, eleven 2,300TEU ships, and eleven 3,000TEU ships.
The 1,800TEU ships will utilise an existing Huangpu Wenchong design while the two other ship series are of new designs developed specifically for Evergreen.
