

China's Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group has secured shipbuilding contracts for 22 vessels during the first quarter of 2026.
The group announced on March 31 that the aggregate value of these new orders is approximately $980 million.
The contracts comprise 17 containerships, including six units of 1,100 TEU capacity, four units of 1,900 TEU capacity, and seven units of 5,900 TEU capacity. Additionally, the agreement includes four 50,000 DWT medium-range oil tankers and one bulk carrier with a capacity of 83,000 DWT.
Deliveries for the newly ordered vessels are scheduled to occur between 2028 and 2029.
The group stated that these contracts are not expected to have a material impact on its net tangible assets or earnings per share for the financial year ending December 31, 2026.
Following these latest orders and deliveries in the first quarter, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding said its outstanding order book stands at approximately $22.78 billion, with a backlog that encompasses 256 vessels.
