Atlantic Container Line has recently named its upcoming G4 series of vessels, which will be amongst the largest Ro-Ro/container (Con-Ro) vessels in the world.
Following an internal naming competition, the vessels will be named 'Atlantic Star', 'Atlantic Sail', 'Atlantic Sea', 'Atlantic Sky' and 'Atlantic Sun'.
"The vessels will be bigger, faster, greener and more efficient than their predecessors," said ACL.
"The G4s will have a container capacity of 3,800 TEUs, plus 28,900m2 of Ro-Ro space with a total car capacity of 1,307 vehicles."
The first ACL G4 will enter service next year, followed every two months by a sister vessel until the entire ACL fleet is replaced.
The vessels will replace ACL's existing fleet of G3s, which are currently operating in the company's transatlantic service.
