AET names newest DP2 shuttle tanker

AET recently christened its newest DP2 shuttle tanker, which will operate under a long-term charter with Brazilian petroleum company Petrobras.

The 155,000DWT Eagle Colatina is nearing completion at Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) in South Korea and will be delivered in the coming weeks while two other sister ships will be delivered later this year.

Eagle Colatina is classed by DNV and equipped with electrically-driven variable frequency drive cargo pumps and high-power thrusters for enhanced fuel efficiency. AET said the tanker is fully capable of operating in weather conditions expected for its class.
